Wow Amber why hate on the dead American hero, who did absolutely nothing to you…
I mean really it’s not like a TOY STORE employee is affected by American creditability abroad… and it’s not like we really had any to begin with, I mean all we did was help save the world from the NAZIS…
Sure, but prior to that you (as a country) refused to get involved and sold arms and ammunition to both sides. It wasn’t until Pearl Harbour that you opted to join the fight.
Had Japan decided against their surprise attack and/or opted to leave the Phillipenes alone America probably would have continued to sit back and profited off the war.
So, yeah. Just one small reason why, as a rule, Americans *don’t* have any credibility abroad.
Actually, the United States prior to Pearl Harbor created a Volunteer Fighter Squadron (the Flying Tigers) (www.flyingtigersavg.com/)
which were sent to China to help hold off the Japanese advance. Pilots were sent to Britain as well as equipment. The Destroyers for Bases Agreement (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Destroyers_for_Bases_Agreement) was implemented to work around the US neutrality. While the US did not implicitly send soldiers to fight until after Pearl Harbor, they were far from truly neutral.
The US approach to WWII was very cautious because WWI was still fresh in the public mind. An important facit to remember is wars rarely created world wide impact prior to WWI. We live now with it common for a tiny war to escalate to “important” quickly. Iraq taking over Kuwait became a significant event, but I highly doubt it would even have been on world news if it had happened before 1900.
As for US credibility, that is subjective to the country and individual you ask.
His economic policies, while truly flawed, also had more American’s working than in any other time in hist- WHY ARE YOU ARGUING ABOUT THIS ON A WEBCOMIC’S COMMENT SECTION, AND WHY DO I FEEL I MUST JOIN IN AT THE SLIGHTEST PROVOCATION?!?!?!?
Hitler was basically a jobs program. He proved FDR was right all along. You put enough people in busywork jobs, things get better. Just a matter of scale and public will.
Reagan’s policies were just more of the same. They created a bigger inflationary than was created in the sixties through government spending, only did so more quickly because it was injected straight into the “supply side” rather than passing through the consumer class first.
And WWII did not do crap for the economy. You can’t create wealth by killing people and blowing stuff up. Wars only enrich the military-industrial complex, at the expense of everyone else. It wasn’t until the troops came home and began once more to participate in private (i.e., productive) markets that the depression finally ended in terms of real income and the standard of living.
Rick at least seems to understand the concept of “stealth.” Unlike Naruto, who seems incapable of undertaking a mission without shouting at the top of his lungs that he’s “GONNA TAKE THIS GUY OUT WITHOUT BREAKING A SWEAT! AND THEN I’M GONNA FIND SASUKE AND BRING HIM BACK TO THE VILLAGE! AND THEN I’M GONNA BE HOKAGE!” Hell, you should be able to beat Naruto just by not being deaf.
WOOT! GO AMBER-WITH-SELF-ESTEEM!
I like this Amber. I hope it sticks.
she has ascended to a new level.

well put, I was going to say something similar

I think the New Deal would disagree with you, sir.
US unemployment didn’t drop back below 10% until after 1940. The New Deal didn’t get Americans working again, Hitler did.

aww poor Ronnie
Yeah, it looks like someone kicked his puppy…
Uhh Rick knows way more about being a ninja than Naruto..

He and BlackStar would probably hit it off. Thing is, Blackstar actually can f*** you up when he gets serious.
Poor Rick. All he did was just defend. Amber needs to cool off.
hey, he didn’t object to being the meatshield
She’s on a roll.
Mm.. heaving..
Alright, so, assuming people lead off a punch with their dominant hand as I do, does that mean Amber is left-handed?
Random, much?…
That was an epic The Reason You Suck Speech she gave to Faz.
Yesssss, Amber…Give in to your hate. Turn to the Mike Side.
This was the moment when I realized gallasso had Martian technology. I’m not sure why though.
Amber has officially snapped. She’s gone crazy.
