I wonder what 4Chan thinks of David Willis. I know he’s mentioned to “not suck” on Encyclopaedia Dramatica, which is sort of a 4Chan wiki. But most webcomic authors are labeled as scum by extreme critics.
There’s no page for Willis on ED, but on the page for “Wiigii!” ED describes Willis as a “self-diagnosed Ass pie” who created the word “when he shat his pants one day and described the sounds it made in his underwear to his friends on IRC.”

However, here’s a comment from their page on webcomics: “These webcomics usually consist of the characters standing around wasting panel space with stupid dialogue, making expressions that no one in real life ever makes. Such comics as Penny Arcade, MegaTokyo, San Antonio Rock City and Shortpacked are just that. General rule: if the author is a character in the strip, it’s a fucking blog.”
