Fern Gully is one of those films that only really works as a standalone. Then, to make a sequal that has a story, and makes sense in-continuity, they have to come up with some pretty dumb ideas. I don't recall much about it, but I think there's this Crocodile Dundee guy who wants to capture all the baby animals, some old guy with a clown car, and one thing I found really <i>disappointing<i />, was that even though it had a completely different storyline, the main antagonistic threat was dispatched in the exact same way as in the first film.
