The general mechanics are fine, provided you have a screen protector (You have to draw circles around the Pokemon and not let them attack the lines, and they attack A LOT so you get used to drawing really fast), but the first game at least has some pretty sadistic bosses. Oh, and one section where, after fighting three of the aforementioned sadistic bosses and being specifically warned not to complete all four challenges, your partner says "Let's go check out the fourth one!" and gets goaded into completing the fourth challenge by the bad guy team. And they won't let you leave without them, nor do they help at all. That said, the later two games might have better writing. I’ve actually played it.
