   This comic confused me when I first read it a couple years ago, but then I read IW! and realized who the only other person was that made Mike react this way: Dina.

   Suddenly it makes a lot more sense.

     I wouldn’t call this a defeat. He might have to take a step back, rethink his strategy, or follow-through with the Mom thing, but it’s not a defeat.

       No, this is definitely a defeat. The point of the ‘your momma’ joke is to humiliate the other person. He failed to get past the shield of ignorance. Furthermore, the exact moment of failure occurred when he had to explain clearly that he was referring to his penis. Every panel beyond that just compounded his failure. So sad.

   I laughed at Mike getting frustraited and then I realised the only other time that happened was with Dina and got sad.

     But, see, most of the time, that was the one feature Dina had that made her awesome. So, really, it’s just kind of a sweet memory and don’t go beyond that. ^_^
