What we need is a mechanism to have a "quality factor" of some sort attached to ideas. Real, direct observations would have high quality factors, pure guesses low factors. Conclusions and derived ideas would have higher factors if based more on high-quality ideas, lower if otherwise. Such a mechanism would if course also need to ensure accurate quality factors. There is one mechanism out there that does this -- it's called Science. But science is still a very manual process. Where it is verses where we really need it to bees comparable to the difference between the Scribes of the Dark Ages and the present-day (2013) internet.
