if the world was united under a central government guided by laws that would be inforced by not only those who make them but the people who follow them then we wouldint all die in a mass extinction.
ok im done for now ill start posting again as soon as i care.
But seriously, the problem is that humans did not evolve in an environment where large-scale populations had to make collective, evidence-based decisions to survive. Small-scale, yes — different tribes would succeed and expand, or fail and collapse, based on these abilities. So we wound up with tendencies to just copy ideas uncritically from elders and respected individuals, and to trust that those in our in-group would tell us the truth about what they observe if the world.
What we need is a mechanism to have a “quality factor” of some sort attached to ideas. Real, direct observations would have high quality factors, pure guesses low factors. Conclusions and derived ideas would have higher factors if based more on high-quality ideas, lower if otherwise. Such a mechanism would if course also need to ensure accurate quality factors.
There is one mechanism out there that does this — it’s called Science.
But science is still a very manual process. Where it is verses where we really need it to bees comparable to the difference between the Scribes of the Dark Ages and the present-day (2013) internet.
I don’t know how to accomplish this, but it’s something we need to start thinking about.
It still gets me how… cruel the pages are, starting with the funny moment of what Reagan and Rick would want before becoming so sad once it gets to Robin, Amber and Connie.
Oh wow, just like Scientology! It MUST be true! -:D
It’s nothing like Scientology… THIS actually makes a modicum of sense.

before that could happen we would have to pump the intelligence back into the common people
Back?

“bees” –> “be is”
“And there would be no boundaries between one and other and loneliness would perish”
Is it just me or does this sound a LOT like the Human Instrumentality Project…?
That’s exactly what I was thinking. Don’t initiate Third Impact, Amber! It’s not worth it!
Lincoln -> Roosevelt -> Reagan has to be one of the most hysterical family trees ever envisioned. Those would be some FROSTY family dinners…
Well, it depends. Which Roosevelt?
Nightbird? Diagnostic drone? Animatied Omega Supreme? The rest of the Thirteen?
Come on, Zelda recently release their timeline. Why can’t Hasbro introduce the rest of the guys.
