The reference is to a -scene- from Star Trek (Or a very funny accident). The toy replacing the tribbles from the episode is from Star Wars.

You see, the small fluffy critters are tribbles, which are constantly reproducing. They’ve just poured out of that chute at the top of the image which Captain Kirk just opened. I don’t know if this can actually be considered a reference, though.
