Uhm. No. Power rangers: The Movie isn’t considered canon because it doesn’t fit ANYWHERE in the regular universe. It basically takes a starting point that occurs somewhere around season 2 after the transfer of power and then they go on a huge quest to get ninja powers and ninja zords but when the show continues they have a whole different story on how they acquire the powers and zords. Also zordon’s physiology is shown to be completely different in the show than the movie. Turbo: a power rangers movie however IS canon, because it actually introduced the new powers and didn’t redo the story as soon as the series started again.
People just haven’t given the other ones a chance. I think all of them are great and unique in their own ways. Sure some of them have been strange, but all in all after watching each series, they’re all really good. RPM was REAL awesome.
Here’s a solution: Stop obsessing over Power Rangers and start obsessing over Star Wars. Jedi are more awesome than PRs anyway (along with anyone else wearing brightly colored spandex).
i remember a live action power rangers movie, from when i was like, 10, where they would battle a guy, whose “thing” was filling machines with purple goo, which, when thrown at people made them obey him.
Is this the one being thrashed here?
Well if the movie is canon then the Rangers lost their Dino/Thunder powers and gained ninja powers twice that being said Dulcea was better to look at than Ninjor.
I still fucking loved that movie. Canon or not. Even stand alone it was my favorite and cemented my love for Power Rangers when I was like 8yrs old. I had *the worst* crush on Kimberly for reals. Though it wasn’t until now, in my adulthood (coming out as bisexual, etc) I realize why I wanted to be the red ranger so bad. Lol.
If it makes you feel better, while canon in Power Rangers is fickle with few indicators of what what is explicitly non-canon, Super Sentai is all over the place with how its canon works. Goranger and JAKQ are in the same universe (shared with the Showa era Kamen Riders and Kikaider apparently), Sun Vulcan continues the story of Denziman, but aside from those instances and outside of crossover movies each season is in its own universe. Except in Gokaiger where they somehow all happened, but only in the context of Gokaiger.

Thank you for making me feel better about my life as a whole.
I second emotion.
Thank you for voicing what I was thinking!
Even though it’s not cannon, it was still a great movie. Although since my youth I’ve now switched to Super Sentai.
canon*
I still say the series started losing its punch after Liveman.

Ugh…I’ve got a headache…a headache….
I got the reference!
I remember going to see this movie in theaters when I was a Kid.
agreed totaly with how they messed up the storylines.

“RANGERS! THE CITY IS BEING ATTACKED BY A GIANT COOKIE!!”
ah, memories…

I think it is.

Ethan sure can be a bitch sometimes. Amber is a very bad choice for taking out your frustrations on. >:c

This sounds alot like movies based on Anime.
Also not everything follows the multiverse route like Transformers.
No. Shut up.
I thought this was the case. I remember being really confused by this when I was a kid.
