Knowing the author’s writing, this gonna come up in a couple more years when we all have forgotten about it and it’ll take us a couple of seconds to remember it and we’ll be banging our heads against the wall for not seeing it coming.
Nope, never explained. Then again, people don’t advertize when they destroy evidence. I guess it is both a symbol and a reality, and you have to be kind of nuts to perceive something like that, the way Robin, Gallassio, and Head Alien II are.
If you read another 6 years of these strips you will visit the road not taken here, though.

Re-stumbled onto this one. And I just thought of a horrible lesson Willis is teaching us: Flames kill Drama.
