note: no study has proven any cause for homosexuality and for every study I have heard I have known at least one gay man who that reason would make no sense for.

That hasn't been explained yet. Just off the cuff, though, I'd guess that there might either be (a) a parallel compensating advantage for their brothers or (b) the factor of women often having the choice of whether to have unprotected sex "taken out of their hands," shall we say.

Either way, this epidemiological study hasn't pinpointed the gene nor does it claim that this could be the sole genetic factor in male homosexuality.

Not necessarily. Genetics isn't that simple -- genes for something as common as homosexuality don't just constantly appear out of nowhere.

If a gay man's hetero siblings carry genes responsible for his orientation either partially as recessive traits, in full as sex-linked traits that don't affect their gender, or in full, but unexpressed due to environmental effects on development, then it passes on.

It's funny, but not necessarily true. Studies show that a couple in which both of the members are heterosexual can still produce a homosexual child, since one can carry the gene without being gay (I'm assuming it's recessive or something?).

A recent study researched into this and found that the same gene that leads to homosexuality in males leads to super-fecundity in females (They get pregnant very easily). That's why the homosexuality gene still exists, because there is an evolutionary reason for it in females.

Aside from the fact that both of these replies are very, very late, Kevin is Right; every adopted child has a genetic link to their parents.. just not their adopted parents.

Thats one of the reasons yes! A forerunner..

Scientists dont tend to speak in absolutes though, Good scientists at least. There'll be plenty of reasons by the end of the investigation. :)
