I live in Nebraska about the time I was reading this the first time, or maybe a little before, I had a classmate who actually had a Canadian girlfriend who he met online and I always thought, what if it WAS Amber. (and I realize they aren’t in Canada, or real but I specifically remember this thought coming to my head.)
A friend of mine and I kept in contact online like that. Both from military families. Lost contact when I was just starting middle school. Found each other again while one was in ALaska and the other Florida. We’re now happily married in Kansas (^_^)

Also, not sure if many read these past strips, but just had to comment. Seriously Dave-who-hates-bad-pet-owners? Get with the times. Most people communicate via texts, electronics, internet, etc anymore. Not quite sure on the exact stats, but I’m willing to assume that as much as 40-50% of relationships are started over the internet.
