   Y’know what’s worse than finding out this stuff by going to general boards? Finding it out by going on a board with no content guidelines. Or going to a place where you can meet these people in person. I’m a white guy who goes to a lot of car shows and it’s still astonishing to me just how much hate I hear directed at roughly 60% of the population just because the speaker assumes that I’m a white guy at a car show and therefore must share all of his prejudices.
   I’ve sometimes thought about carrying around pictures of women of various ethnic groups, waiting until a pause in the latest rant, then pulling out the appropriate one and saying, “By the way, this is my girlfriend.”
